Tampa, FL – Following an impressive second round knockout of a more experienced Chris Wright, Nate Landwehr will return to action on February 22 in Charlotte, when he faces off with D’Juan Owens in an XFC Featherweight match up. The bout will be the opening fight of the night broadcast live on national television, on AXStv.

Landwehr is now 2-0 as a pro, with both wins coming under the XFC banner. His fast paced, hard hitting, fight style overwhelmed veteran Chris Wright and handed Wright his second loss in 9 pro fights. Landwehr trains out of the SSF Submission Academy but hasn’t wasted any time rolling with opponents in search of a submission, both of his victories are by TKO. Labeled as one of the top Featherweights in the Tennessee region, the XFC is now taking “The Ric Flair of MMA” on the road to new territory to face one of the best that the Carolina’s has to offer.

Landwehr’s opponent, D’Juan Owens will be making his promotional debut with the XFC in the company’s second voyage to the Charlotte area. Owens has been competing in MMA since his amateur debut in 2008 and has since taken nearly 20 fights, amateur and pro combined. Owens is well known in the Carolina MMA scene for his exciting fight style and he will have a large following in attendance to see him in action. The only question left is, who will walk out of the cage with the W.

XFC President John Prisco announced the bout with a great deal of excitement, adding that Owens and Landwehr would be the opening bout at XFC 22. “We’re going to take Nate out of Tennessee and see how he stands up to the guys in other parts of the country. He’s getting a tough opponent with Owens, who already has 9 pro fights. They have a similar fight style, they both swing big and look for that knockout punch,” Prisco told the media staff. “The night is going to start with a bang; people are going to be on their feet from the very first punch.”

XFC returns to Charlotte, North Carolina for XFC22: Crossing the Line on February 22. This will mark the promotions first visit to Charlotte since August when they entertained a sell-out crowd at the Grady Cole Center. XFC 22 is presented by ICRealTime Security Solutions and ThroatPunch Ind. Apparel. The opening bout between Landwehr and Owens will be the pre-quel of things to come for the night.
