The Funky Monkey (MMA) Mixed Martial Arts News Interviews Official XFC competitor and professional mixed martial artist, Deivison Dragon Ribeiro. How did you get into the sport?
I got into mma by curiosity and by being passionate about martial arts, I had already done several other sports such as Capoeira, judo, boxing there so I made my first fight at 17 years old and then I never stopped.

What is your favorite strike / submission to use in any fight?
Neck bottlenecks are my favorites

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My God and my family.

Which team are you training with preparation for his next fight?
At American Top Team, and I count on the support and experience of the best coaches in the world.

What is your favorite aspect of MMA? (Grappling, striking, clinch work, etc.)
Be quite aggressive when I need to, and I adapt in any territory which.

Which means (for you) to be a fighter?
Means “fight for my dreams”

If you could have one dream fight with anyone, who would it be?
Jose Aldo for the UFC title.

What do you want to be remembered at the end of his career?
As the best history, they still intend to be.

How you spend your time when not training for a fight?
How any one person, playing with my dog, with my family and swim in the river.

Were your friends and family supportive when you decided to enter the world of MMA?
Thought I was crazy, said I had to give up and go to work, but I did not want to be just another poor worker in a small town in Brazil, so I traveled two hours every day to be able to train in other cities.

What is your gameplan for 2013?
Win all my fights.

If you could fight anyone outside the world of MMA would it be?
With some corrupt politician in Brazil. hahaha

What are some of your hobbies outside of the ring?
Swimming, internet, play guitar and stuff

Its 10 minutes before you go out to fight, what’s going through your head in that moment?
What really happened to come up here, a lot of pain were unsuccessful, and now and time to show the result of all my work and my team.
